The third installment of the comic superhero Deadpool is officially in production, and the most recent information confirms that Hugh Jackman will come back as Wolverine and join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On September 27, 2022, franchise star Ryan Reynolds posted a video to social media to announce the news.
Ryan Reynolds highlights in the video the difficulties of maintaining the character’s essence while integrating Deadpool into the MCU. Then, he says, the creative team and him came up with the same idea: to bring Jackman back as Wolverine. The character was portrayed by Jackman in several X-Men films, notably the highly regarded “Logan” in 2017.
Apart from Jackman, the audience will also get to see Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen in the upcoming installment of Deadpool. Emma Corrin has previously featured in the Netflix drama “The Crown” as Princess Diana, while Matthew has played a role in “Succession.” The film is directed by Shawn Levy, while Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick wrote the screenplay.

Reese and Wernick have shared their experiences explaining how much fun it has been writing for Deadpool one more time because of continuous encouragement from Marvel. They both hinted that the Deadpool 3 characters might get additional depth and purpose. However, the third installment will preserve the same tone and vision as the earlier installments.
Audiences can look forward to seeing the X-Men pair up with Wolverine and Deadpool. How those two characters will integrate into the larger MCU is not yet certain, though. With Reynolds, Jackman, and the other creative team on board, “Deadpool 3” appears to be a crazy trip loaded with adventure, comedy, and emotion.
