Greg Hoy, singer, songwriter, and artist, sets out on a musical journey called the “Move Along 2021 Tour” with The Boys which features 20 shows in the U.S.
Currently based out of the East Bay, CA, Greg Hoy is a stellar artist who makes vivid music and entertains people. He has released over 30 albums under several different names and delivered a mesmerizing musical experience.
“Move Along 2021 Tour” is not his first on-road venture for music. He has toured in the U.S. several times and enchanted the audience through his poetic songs and stage appearances. His music has also been featured on prestigious channels like MTV, and the CW network. Then, he went on to swoon away the commercial world of Pinterest, American Express, and many more. In 2010, he decided to intensify his motive of making and engineering music for himself and other bands. To fulfill that dream, Greg began a record label, 30 Peak Recording Company. His talents are not constricted to music only: he is also the co-founder and podcast host of Hiring Guild, a company that advises tech companies in the Silicon Valley around designing creative teams.
Road To Creative Destination
Greg has worked with several prominent bands and helped them in creating hit songs. However, he was not always satisfied with the idea of being just another asset to someone else. He was penning down his real thoughts into songs for other bands, and the epiphany to chase his dreams came through a creative event in life.
Once he was attending a concert by the band Guilded By Voices at the Irving Plaza in New York City, and the revelation finally came to him. He didn’t want to be the person that witnesses the amazing bands from afar: he wants to *be* that amazing band and leave people in the awe of his music.
Inspiration That Led To Success
Greg derives inspiration from life experiences that develop integrity for every event. He believes that the enormous amount of content that is being rolled out on a daily basis is just created on a whim and lacks the factor of empathy, and critical reasoning that makes it exceptional.
Obsessiveness with capitalism is killing creativity, and art is the only solution to fill this void. Greg creates music that is engaging and captures hearts. It sells, but with the motive of creating a connection with the audience.
Music That Captivates The Soul
When his 2020 tour was canceled due to the unfortunate pandemic, Greg retreated to his favorite part of music, which is writing. He recorded an exuberant album in secret at the Tiny Telephone Studios in Oakland and created magic during that time.
This gave birth to the album ‘Cacophony’. The album constitutes 5 singles with accompanying picturesque videos. One of his songs from the album also features hip-hop icon Ice-T.
