Hard rock legendary singer and performer Ozzy Osbourne has announced the cancellation of his 2023 tour dates for the UK and around Europe. Ozzy’s announcement is sure to disappoint his fans who have been eagerly awaiting the return of the “Prince of Darkness” to the stage. In a heartfelt statement released early this morning, Osbourne clarified the reason behind his show cancellations. As per his statement, the damage to his spine from a fall four years ago will prevent him from touring.
“I am incredibly humbled by the way you (fans) have patiently held onto your tickets for all this time. However, I must be honest with you all and admit that I am not physically fit for doing my upcoming European/UK tour dates,” said the 74-year-old Grammy winner and former Black Sabbath vocalist. “My singing voice is still strong, but I simply cannot handle the exasperating physical demands of touring, especially with the travel required.”
Ozzy has gone through three surgeries, stem cell treatments, physical therapy and even Hybrid Assistive Limb treatment, still Ozzy Osbourne remains physically unfit. He extended his gratitude to his family, fans, band and crew, and fellow metal pioneers Judas Priest, but said he never could have imagined his touring days would end this way. Osbourne’s team is reportedly working on alternative plans so he can still perform without the stress of traveling from city to city and country to country.

Those who have purchased tickets for Ozzy’s 2023 tour dates will get a full refund at the point of purchase. Ozzy’s tours had also been canceled earlier in 2019 given to his health issues. In 2019, he had to cancel shows in Europe and North America because of a “bad fall,” which injured his neck vertebrae. In 2020, he announced he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a nervous system disorder that affects movement.
Ozzy Osbourne holds a respected and influential place in the history of the heavy metal music genre. He was born in Birmingham, England in 1948 as John Michael Osbourne. He came in limelight as the lead vocalist for the legendary metal band Black Sabbath. With his unique voice and mesmerizing stage presence, Osbourne did not take much time to become one of the most celebrated and beloved figures in the genre.

He has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, both as a solo artist and as a member of Black Sabbath.
