Oprah Winfrey Recovers from Stomach Virus Episode, Emphasises Hydration and Caution Amid Household Spread
Following a brief stint in the emergency room due to a stomach virus, Oprah Winfrey is now in recovery mode. In a statement to CNN, her representative confirmed that Winfrey sought medical attention for dehydration, receiving necessary IV treatment as advised by her doctor. Despite feeling under the weather, Winfrey assured her friend Gayle King during a video call shared on Instagram that she’s steadily improving, although not yet at full strength.
Expressing concern over the contagious nature of the illness, Winfrey revealed that multiple individuals in her household also fell ill. She stressed the importance of hand hygiene to prevent further spread.
Winfrey’s absence from “CBS Mornings,” where she was slated to announce her latest Oprah’s Book Club selection alongside King and the book’s author, disappointed fans. However, she made sure to share her pick, “Familiaris” by David Wroblewski, via other channels. Despite the setback, Winfrey remains determined, reassuring supporters that she’s on the road to recovery.
