LOS ANGELES, CA — April 2026 — The 4th Annual MENASA Diversity Actors Showcase returned this spring as a growing industry initiative focused on expanding visibility and access for actors of Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian, and Southwest Asian (MENASA / SWANA) descent.

Presented by Studio For Performing Arts LA, a Los Angeles–based acting school offering professional training and industry-focused programs for film and television, and the Studio For Performing Arts Foundation, in collaboration with the Hollywood Arab Film Festival (HAFF), the showcase continues to evolve as a national platform connecting talent with casting directors, agents, managers, and producers.

The 2026 edition brought together 90 actors from across the United States and engaged 50+ industry professionals through a hybrid format designed to increase both accessibility and long-term exposure. Actors participated by submitting recorded monologues for inclusion in a curated industry database, while a select group performed live in Los Angeles at the Culver City Theatre as part of the Hollywood Arab Film Festival.

By combining a nationwide digital submission model with an in-person showcase, the MENASA Diversity Actors Showcase creates multiple pathways for discovery—allowing industry professionals to engage with talent both in real time and on an ongoing basis. All participating actors are included in a shared database, extending visibility beyond a single event and supporting continued casting and outreach opportunities.

The showcase is directed by actor and filmmaker Walid Chaya, whose work through Studio For Performing Arts LA centers on bridging the gap between professional acting training and real-world industry access. The initiative reflects a broader commitment to addressing ongoing disparities in representation, as MENASA actors continue to face limited visibility and typecasting within film and television.

Rather than functioning as a one-time event, the MENASA Diversity Actors Showcase is structured as an ongoing resource—supporting both emerging and working actors by providing direct access to industry professionals in a format that is scalable, inclusive, and aligned with the evolving needs of the entertainment industry.

Its collaboration with the Hollywood Arab Film Festival further situates the showcase within a broader cultural and cinematic context, aligning talent discovery with a platform dedicated to amplifying Arab and North African voices and fostering cross-cultural storytelling.

As the showcase continues to grow, it reflects a shift toward more accessible and sustainable models for talent discovery—where geography is less of a barrier, and visibility can extend beyond a single moment.
