Chandni, a British-Indian artist, is here to soothe your music bug with her new single “Gone” which was co-written and produced by Blue Lab Beats alongside co-writer Antoni Franco. The track is released by D2D Records, a record label dedicated to empowering talented female artists such as Chandni.

“Gone” is bursting with rich emotion and colour.  It is a melodic masterpiece that takes the listener on a journey delving deep into the heartfelt story of the artist.

For Chandni, it was the realisation that she needed to set boundaries with people that triggered the emotion that gave birth to the track. We all know that setting up boundaries can be important for self-care. It can be difficult to do but is sometimes a necessary step in order to give one the space they need to function to their fullest potential.

Through this song, Chandni documents her own journey through life and having to at times choose herself. It represents the emotions she experienced, the association of guilt, and ultimately her discovery of the strength it takes to maintain physical and mental well-being.

People will definitely relate to the harmonies and lyrics of “Gone”, and when they do, it will  become therapy, a guide to shape a better perspective on life and be more in control.

Chandni was born and brought up in Crawley with Gujarati roots. Her music takes inspiration from her diverse cultural inheritance and experience. Her sound has hints of jazz, electronic, and soulful music. Her versatile and captivating approach delivers a raw, in-depth performance that draws the listener into a world of intense emotions and personal stories.

Since releasing her singles ‘Eye to Eye’ and ‘Closure’, the British-Indian artist has caught the attention of several music and radio platforms such as Foundation FM, BBC Asian Network, Reprezent Radio, and more.

About the singer

Chandni is a 24-year-old artist. Her debut song was “Eye to Eye”, and as a new singer, she captured many hearts with her touching lyrics and music. Her contribution to a collaborative project titled ‘Songs From Our Rooms’ was exclusively released on Bandcamp.

Chandni self-released her songs for some time and has now signed with D2D Records, an all female record label. This label is behind the release of her songs “Gone” and her planned next release “The Upside”.

As a second-generation British-Indian woman of Gujarati heritage, she has faced many hurdles in her way. She feels that submissive, quiet, and non-opinionated female stereotypes are often strongly associated with the women of her society. She thrives on her creativity and has worked hard to ensure that the expression of her love for music is not impeded by any of these stereotypes.

She loves that music is an unhinged art and there are no limits to what you can explore in the world of harmonies and beats.

About her new track “Gone”, she feels that being selfish is not always a bad thing. Caring for yourself is the first step to self acceptance.

As an artist, Chandni is on the path to transforming her love for music into a representation of her culture, thoughts, and personal story of passion and challenges. She is keen to break down and challenge the traditional stereotypes through her creative voice and expression.

“I aspire to represent the average South Asian woman – both the beautiful and challenging moments. I have already begun this journey through my newest venture working alongside D2D Records, a South Asian Woman owned label, looking to amplify women in the music industry.” – Chandni
