Caleb Cornelius, an experimental electronic music artist, creates new realities with layered sounds and rich visuals in his new track and video “Pavonis Mons.”
The music industry craves something new and eccentric that has never been witnessed before. And with experimental artists like Serpentine, that need for something new and mystic has been fulfilled. And when an intriguing context is added to this already thriving genre, it becomes the epitome of innovation and talent. The new release “Pavonis Mons” by him is the perfect example of that.
This new track by Serpentine is an extraterrestrial adventure that will take you on a ride to Mars. Pavonis Mons is a large shield volcano located in the Tharsis region of the planet Mars. While writing the song, the eruption of volcano Vesuvius and how it destroyed Pompeii, that is where the idea of this new track struck him. This song represents a sci-fi Mount Vesuvius on Mars. Serpentine and his team brought this idea to life through video by shooting in a variety of surreal environments.
He filmed the video on the outskirts of Death Valley at a few different locations. One of them was a large crater that he and his team climbed to the top of at 4 am to get the proper sunlight for the shot. The whole experience was so much fun, and nature made that moment even more beautiful. Being inside of the crater felt powerful to him, and the result was a great visual embedded video accompanied by enrapturing lyrics.
His Musical Journey
Caleb Cornelius, now known as Serpentine, was always indulged in music, even at a young age. He started making music 6 years ago when he was residing in Cincinnati, Ohio. Due to the thriving DIY scene in that place, Serpentine got ample chances to showcase his musical talents at local art galleries, venues, and bars. After he moved to Los Angeles, he started recording more songs and diving deep into his passion.
He uses his music to get rid of negative thoughts and feelings in a way that is cathartic to others. It is a therapy for him that helps to get through the struggles in a healthy way. HIs experimenting bug has led him to create some great songs. He is not afraid of genre-bending and encourages others to also embark on an adventure without going in the warp of failing beforehand.
The charismatic soul inspires people to be authentic and face any adversities with courage. Serpentine believes living in fear can only limit you and keep you from true expression.
