The much-awaited season 8 of the sitcom, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is all set to hit the small screens on August 12, 2021. Making a comeback after sixteen months, fans gear up for a bittersweet and tearful goodbye to the widely loved show.
The teaser trailer released by NBC on May 20 compiled some of the best moments from the past seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, or as fans like to say, “Noine-Noine.” The show has featured seven heist episodes (in which the department splits into teams in order to steal a valuable item and win the title of “amazing detective-slash-genius” for outsmarting everyone else), 4279 utterances of ‘cool’, and made jokes about “32 sex tape titles.” All these tallies were a part of the teaser, a nostalgic reminder of the eight-year-long run the show had.
The trailer begins with interviews with the cast, with Melissa Fumero (Amy Santiago) stating that “Brooklyn Nine-Nine changed my life.” Andre Braugher (Cpt. Holt) expresses his gratitude for the “incredible ride” he’s had while working on the show, while Terry Crews (Lt. Jeffords) says, “It’s been so much fun.” Season 8 is going to be shorter than its predecessors, a total of 10 episodes before we say goodbye to our favorite precinct forever.

Plot And Storyline
Set in the fictional 99th precinct of NYPD in Brooklyn, The show revolves around a squad of detectives led by Captain Raymond Holt, a gay black man who is overly serious at all times. Jake Peralta is one of the detectives, an ace investigator who, despite his laid-back and childish demeanor, has a high record of successfully solved crimes. He eventually falls for Amy Santiago, a dorky, by-the-book but talented colleague, and marries her. Jake’s best friend, the timid and trustworthy Charles Boyle, is frequently paired with Rosa Diaz, who is closed off, impersonal, and aggressive. Michael Hitchcock and Norm Scully, the two older detectives, frequently seem slow and lazy, but they were once legendary detectives. Gina Linetti, a sarcastic and bossy civilian administrator who despises the cops, is also stationed in the precinct.
The last episode of season seven saw Peralta and Santiago become parents to a baby boy, McClane. This season will give us a glimpse into the “Peraltiago Parenting,” which includes wearing shower caps to work as seen in the teaser. The Nine-Nine is ready to go, and as said by the teaser, they’re “going out with a bang…a mic drop…[and a] blaze of glory.”
