Meet Topps, a UK musician, songwriter, rapper, and actor, whose music is featured on hit shows like Love Island and Eastenders.
Topps Chanzo should be on your music radar as he takes over the industry with his remarkable songs. His latest hit “Say Yes or Say No,” was played for more than two minutes on an episode of the hit ITV2 reality show Love Island last month. Topps has big plans in his mind, and music heals his soul, but more than this, music connects him with the audience, weaving an unbreakable bond.
He is a magnetic singer with a musical legacy he carries proudly. His late father, Ray Watts, was the lead singer of the Birmingham reggae band Beshara. His father’s band, who were from Moseley and Washwood Heath, formed in 1976 and is best remembered for their 1981 hit, “Men Cry Too,” which reached number 2 in the British reggae charts.
His songs are clearly remarkable that even BBC shows can’t resist. He has had the honor of his song being played on BBC soap, “Eastenders” ten times, and his song “Social” was also played on the English ITV2 reality show “Peckham’s Finest”. His second single ‘What’s Your Problem?’ has been featured on a BBC radio station. Topps has since teamed up with a production team called The Haddon Project and together they have created and released a boxing-themed song called ‘’Ring Walk’’. It has been used by various international and professional boxers as their ring walk song on Sky Sports and the USA streaming platforms DAZN and ESPN+. The same song has been used for a UFC promo compilation of UFC star Aspen Ladd.

In the early days of his career, he focused on mastering the skills of writing songs, shaping his rhythmic coordination, and singling out unique topics to write about.
He described his moment of elation when his song streamed on Love Island by saying, “I wasn’t watching it at the time, I was actually at the cinema, and when the film finished I switched my phone on and immediately began to receive a barrage of messages and wondered what was going on. I saw one message from my brother along with many other messages from various people across all social platforms telling me excitedly that they had just heard my song on Love Island.”
The young artist derives his inspiration from his father and other legends like Becky Hill, Boyz ll Men, Ella Mai, Michael Jackson, Usher, and J Cole. His vision is to create songs that leave their mark in the hall of fame and people stream them for years to come. To listen to his songs, visit here.
