The 2025 Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, spotlighting the biggest names in music. Beyoncé took home the most coveted award of the night—Album of the Year—while Kendrick Lamar swept the top categories, winning both Song and Record of the Year. New artist Chappell Roan also made her mark, earning the honor of Best New Artist.

Beyoncé’s remarkable night didn’t stop with Album of the Year; she also made history by winning Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II MOST WANTED” featuring Miley Cyrus, becoming the first Black woman in 50 years to claim a country Grammy. During the premiere ceremony, Beyoncé’s win highlighted the recognition of artists from across the genre spectrum, as the Grammy Awards acknowledged her diverse talents.

Kendrick Lamar continued his Grammy dominance by winning Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Not Like Us,” dedicating his win to Los Angeles, especially in light of the city’s recent wildfire struggles. Lamar’s victory was part of a sweeping success across multiple categories, including Best Music Video, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance. His performance at the Grammys capped off an exceptional year, reaffirming his status as one of the most influential artists in modern music.

Other notable winners included Sabrina Carpenter, who earned Pop Vocal Album for Short n’ Sweet, and Chappell Roan, whose Best New Artist award cemented her rise as one of the brightest stars in the music industry. Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars claimed Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their track “Die With a Smile,” while Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran won Best Latin Pop Album.

Doechii made history by becoming only the third female artist to win Best Rap Album for Alligator Bites Never Heal. The night also honored influential figures such as Alicia Keys, who received the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, and a tribute was made to the legendary Quincy Jones.

In other categories, Charli XCX took home her first Grammy for Best Pop Dance Recording with “Von Dutch,” while Muni Long triumphed in the R&B categories, winning Best R&B Performance for “Made for Me (Live on BET).” Meanwhile, The Beatles claimed Best Rock Performance for their track “Now and Then,” and Bradley Cooper won Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media for Maestro.

While this year’s Grammy Awards celebrated the most exceptional artists, some notable nominees, including Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish, went home empty-handed.
