L2B, an artist from Harlem, New York City is here to wow you away with his unique take on chill and lo-fi music with his new single “Toluca Lake.”
The journey started as a young artist at the age of 16, full of ideas, hope and talent. He created his first mixtape which was hosted by Mac Miller’s DJ, which opened up a few doors within the industry. The positive reviews in response encouraged him to release the 2nd mixtape, as well as being featured on a few mixtapes with other notable rappers.
“I delved more into the story-telling aspect of songwriting with the release of my third mixtape in 2014 and ultimately got a little more reflective and self-reliant. My debut album, “The Artist,” was then premiered by The Source Magazine in 2017, and I’m still super proud of that project.”

The song gives a nostalgic summer feeling with a low-key synth tune that throws it back to peaceful days. Ironically, “Toluca Lake” is itself a small town in California. Many famous people reside there because of its serene, private, and exclusive environment. Walking through the luxury neighborhoods to get to the metro, L2B felt the chaos melt into the peaceful sidewalks. This new song showcases the contrast of people who have attained their dream versus those who are still trying, still struggling, even when it is right in front of them.
L2B is genuinely in love with the art of creating music and bringing the best storytelling lyrics to entertain his audience. He conveys the fine line between alternate realities. He also engineers and mixes all of his own music. It’s a process that allows L2B to express himself fully and display his emotions with transparency.
“There’s always something next for me. I am constantly writing and coming up with new ideas, so I have no doubt more music will be released soon. I even have a few songs lined up already. I may focus more on visuals, but I also like allowing the listener to imagine their own ideas from a song. Plus, a little mystery never hurts.
