Emma Watson, the 33-year-old actress popularly known for playing the character of Hermione in the Harry Potter franchise, has announced an indefinite break from her acting career. In a recent interview with the Financial Times, the actress gave an admission to feeling trapped and having no control over her work.
According to Emma Watson, it was difficult for her to be the spokesperson for movies and projects where she had no place in the decision-making process. She did not want to feel like she had to represent something, which was out of her control, but instead wanted to stand in front of situations where she could accept accountability for the outcome.
Emma Watson highlighted that even though he has taken a break from acting, she is still investing her sweat and blood in an unnamed project. In the autumn, Watson will also start to pursue a master’s degree in creative writing at Oxford University.
